Kellie - Lead Vocals

Kellie has been singing solo and in cover bands in the Hampshire/Surrey area for many years. After eventually overcoming her childhood shyness she joined her first band, a brit-pop band called Kybosh in 1993, covering tracks by artists such as Oasis, Alanis Morrisette and Ocean Colour Scene. After that she sang with a mixture of pop duos, trios and bands until joining Talking Loud, in 2002, where, finally she could sing Soul and Jazz-Funk, which is her real love and supported George McCrae (of Rock Your Baby fame) and The Rubettes at The Waterfront Festival.
Kellie is also experienced with solo performances and, sticking to the Soul and Jazz-Funk genre, spent a number of years on the pub/club circuit in Hampshire.
In 2012 Kellie met Silla whilst in another funk/soul band, Back2Funk, and Kellie felt she’d found her singing soul mate. They became firm friends and firm favourites with their audiences and they haven’t looked back since. During late 2013 they decided to put together their own function band and Groove Republic was born.
Kellie's musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Mariah Carey and Nat King Cole, to name but a few.
